Dr. Özgür Gültekin


Gültekin was born in 1982, İstanbul. During his secondary education he got the chance to make use of the famous mathematician Cahit Arf’s experience in TÜBİTAK and finish his primary and secondary education in İstanbul. As beginning, he graduated from Astronomy and Space Sciences Department of İstanbul University, afterwards got his master’s degree in High Energy and Plasma Physics Department of İstanbul University. Gültekin, received Ph D. from High Energy and Plasma Physics Department of İstanbul University; about Statistical description of magnetic plasmas and magnetic fusion under the second consultancy of French Ecole Polytechnique. Gültekin, also took education from five different departments such as Astronomy, Physics, Philosophy, Statistics and Mathematics.

During his master’s degree and doctorate, he gave lectures of Applications of General Physic and Laboratory in multiple engineering departments of İstanbul University for five years. Between 8 to 21 of July in 2013 Gültekin participated in a meeting about "Reduced models of complex plasma dynamics" with the support from CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives) scholarship. Gültekin did studies about mathematical logic, theoretical astrophysics, quantum physics and philosophy of science. Gültekin who has national and international publications, conducted seminars that their agenda including mathematic, physic and philosophy about science at various universities. Besides of giving half-time lectures at different universities and keep making scientific researches with the researchers form French Ecole Polytechniqe; Gültekin is a proud member of American Mathematical Society.
